to reproduce start a gnome-terminal with an active compiz und fullscreen the
terminal.
i can reproduce it on all updated gutsy system. (gfxchip: ati, intel or nvidia)

It's supposed to work like that, gnome-terminal has asked to only be a
multiple of a certain width/height so it won't fill the whole screen.

You are right Traxanos, in most cases a image says more than thousand words,
but at least in this case, i don't see anything wrong.
could you point me what exactly is wrong in the picture?, probably i'm missing
something.

i don't understand you.
i have maximized the gnome-terminal and it have a space/border around the
window.
i think this is noch correct. if i disable compiz the window will fullscreened.

Thanks for the dummy proof screenshot, now i get what you were saying, I was
unable to reproduce this bug in gutsy though, here, the applications expands
using the whole screen area.
Are you using Gutsy Gibbon?, could you please provide the version of the
related software:
compiz
also i have used the betadvd of 7.10. then i have install all updates.
i can reproduce it on 4 test-pcs. i can only reproduced it with an
gnome-terminal.
all other tested programm will works fine.
i have installed the same compiz versions like you.
i can get an vnc access if u need it
