I have had boot failure just after the grub menu disappears since 3.2.0-91.
3.2.0-90 was the last working kernel boot; I am manually selecting that
version; have tested each update since with no success.

Hi Christopher,
Tried several options in the timeslot I had at that pc yesterday, sadly
without any success to update the bios at the moment.
In a few weeks time I hope to be back at that machine and will try wine,
but as it is not the ideal way forward I would need a backup solution if
it damage
