I actually have a fix for this. The reason why the daemon is dying is because dbus is disabled in avahi and the configuration expects DBUS to be enabled for status checking. Make sure you have "enable-dbus=yes" in avahi-daemon.conf :) ** Changed in: avahi (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Fix
