Note that the fix suggested in the forum thread I posted above seems to solve the issues about Compiz crashing immediately when the cursor touches the screen edge. That fix involves disabling screen edge action bindings for the Rotate Flip Right and Rotate Flip Left. However, even after disabling

I wouldn't be so sure. One thing I notice happens when it trips out is that System/Apperance/Visual Effects gets reset to none anytime it happens. Setting it back to custom brings everything back however any attempt to rotate the cube, either by mouse wheel, cursor left or right+ctrl+alt, or
