I disagree on the status given. It is not an invalid issue for Ubuntu 14.04 which uses a kernel of version 3.16.0-x. The kernel delivered is erroneous and that is what is in the report. There is also information that fix is available in newer kernels. Thus, there can be a backport. The reason
