Public bug reported:

Setup:
I installed Kernel 4.3 on Ubuntu 15.10 Wily from
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.3-wily/. It is the 64 bit
version.
ASUS Mainboard Z87-Expert, Intel Core i7-4770 CPU, 32 GB Memory
Onboard graphics of the Core i7 is used without a separate dedicated graphics
card.
Monitor: Sony Bravia TV connected using HDMI
The systems also contains a mdadm software raid 6 based on two LSI 16 port SATA
host adapters plus a couple of single disks. Ubuntu is installed on a single
Samsung 840 pro SSD. No further OS installed.

Symptom:
The screen is flashing in the sense that it shows the Ubuntu desktop for about
a second and then turns black for another second. The screen continuously
alternates between these two states with a frequency of about one second. This
makes the system unusable. The flashing does start directly after selecting the
4.3 kernel in Grub. So all status messages and screens shown at boot time are
already flashing like that.
Next to the flashing there is also slight, but visible distortions in int he
picture.
The system still reacts to mouse and keyboard, but it is very hard to do
anything reasonable due to the screen flashing.
I did just install the Kernel packages without further configuration compared
to a working system with Kernel 4.5.2.

Variations:
Kernel 4.3 RC7 shows the same problem
I am using Kernel 4.2.5 without problems like that.
Also no problems prior to upgrade to Ubuntu 15.10. with the respective kernel
versions of older Ubuntu versions.

As the system is not really usable, I an not sure how to generate helpful
additional information for this problem. Please advice.
I can however connect over ssh and I will attach some information about the
system:

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
