Public bug reported: I have an onboard intel hda sound cared and 2 USB C-media microphone adapters (sometimes plugged in/sometimes not). If the usb microphones are plugged in on boot the intel-hda card gets a random position of card 0, card 1 or card 2 instead of getting card 0 all the time as expected.
I thought the lines below in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf were supposed to prevent this: # Keep snd-usb-audio from beeing loaded as first soundcard options snd-usb-audio index=-2 It is not working properly on my desktop. Each boot gives a random card 0. ** Affects: alsa-base (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: alsa card order ** Attachment added: "output of aplay -l" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1519751/+attachment/4525118/+files/device-order -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1519751 Title: USB Microphones grab card 0 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-base/+bug/1519751/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
