Public bug reported:

I have an onboard intel hda sound cared and 2 USB C-media microphone
adapters (sometimes plugged in/sometimes not).  If the usb microphones
are plugged in on boot the intel-hda card gets a random position of card
0, card 1 or card 2 instead of getting card 0 all the time as expected.

I thought the lines below in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf were
supposed to prevent this:

# Keep snd-usb-audio from beeing loaded as first soundcard
options snd-usb-audio index=-2

It is not working properly on my desktop.  Each boot gives a random card
0.
