Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: apt

apt should be using bittorrent to speed downloads of upgrades and new
package installs. Instead of mirroring the packages at many locations
and allowing people to download from only one mirror, each participating
party should be a bittorrent seeder who can stream data to whoever is
downloading at the time, maximizing download speeds.

** Affects: apt (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
