Public bug reported:

After installing NVIDIA Restricted Driver, Cloned output to external
monitor on my Dell D820 does not work unless I run nvidia-settings and
configure the external monitor (by default the external monitor is set
to disable).  This is such a trivial job and should be done on the fly
as it has been done in the past (100.14.11 and previous worked just
fine).

I've reporoduced this accross multiple distros and x versions including
the most recent 7.3

To me, this is a deal breaker..
