When the cell are merged, I would expect that autofill would take into
account the mereged cells, and not increase as if the cells were not
merged. This would be handy for making header rows that are bigger
that one cell.

Does the new version of openoffice.org 1:2.4.0~rc2 in Ubuntu hardy
resolve your problem? I was not completely sure how to do the layout
since it appears the ascii formatting screwed up what you were trying to
draw.
