I had this same problem, resetting back to the Feisty repositories then
removing the cups-pdf package enabled me to upgrade. I'm guessing
there's a dependency problem in the Gutsy version of cups-pdf.

I've been hit by the same bug. In my case the upgrade-manager stopped due to an
installed package pixeldemo which does not belong to the ubuntu-distribution.
