Ok I have fixed this again. It seems to be when I enable the unsupported
and backports repos that a newer version of kdelibs installs which fixes
the issue. So fixed again for me. Here's the sample packages installed:
17 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 1 not upgraded.

Ok I have done a fresh install of Gutsy (Kubuntu) and yes it is now not
working for me again.

This is now fixed, the updates this morning seem to have solved the
issue, I can start up Kopete and have been running no problem for an
hour or so. The update appears to be kdelibs that fixed it. I've
attached what was installed today.
