Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gdebi-kde

My system is Kubuntu Gutsy.
When I install a package *.deb using gdebi-kde I experience an impressive
growth in memory allocation (about 400 MB of physical RAM and 350 MB of Swap
over the previous allocation) associated with a CPU usage near to 100%.
During installation the system is almost unusable. At the end, after closing
gdebi, memory allocation reverts to a "normal" value.
I tried kpackage instead of gdebi and all works fine, installation is fast and
without memory/cpu troubles.

** Affects: gdebi (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
