I did not appreciate the "protocol" of Bug reports. I think this was the first
[ and only ] time I have had to use it.

Think I already reported that I did a "fresh" instal of Gutsy and all is well?

This is not a smb4k crash but a samba crash. The executable /usr/bin/net
is part of the samba-common package as listed in your crash report.
