Public bug reported: Binary package hint: tracker
I keep my IRC logs in ~/irclogs/network_name/#channel.date.log I was frustrated that Tracker didn't seem to be looking inside these files. However, upon investigation, I found that if I renamed the files from .log to .log.txt, Tracker seems to do a better job of picking them up. However, searching by keywords is still pretty meager -- for example, I've got 100+ bugmails in a maildir with xserver-xgl in the subject line, but searching "xserver-xgl" only finds one recent one. Searching "ubotu" and "<ubotu>" only brings up a few private messages with the bot, though I'm sure EVERY single #*buntu* logfile should have at least a ubotu invocation or two. Beagle definitely did a better job indexing keywords than this. What can I do to make tracker perform better? ** Affects: tracker (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- tracker doesn't index plaintext logs well https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/155196 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
