My BIOS is version 1.2.3 and the flicker continues to happen even with the -11 latest kernel update. I just tested Ubuntu Gnome and the flicker is gone. Interestingly , if you boot standard Ubuntu, with unity, and spt-get install gnome-shell-session, then log out and log back in the Gnome shell,
