@IBM Do you have any systems that have /sys/firmware/devicetree/base/ibm,opal/diagnostics and can test this on? You can use the 16.04 xenial proposed d-i, and boot that with 'apt- setup/proposed=true' extra kernel cmdline this will use hw-detect from xenial-proposed, and should have this issue
