I believe this was fixed in deja-dup with the appstream patch mentioned
in the changelog.
deja-dup (34.2-0ubuntu1) xenial; urgency=medium
* New bug-fix upstream release:
- Fixes restoring some files with unicode characters (LP: #1377873)
* debian/patch/series:
- Disable appstream patc
The imagemagick issue is Bug #1549732 so I'm that task from this bug.
