Public bug reported: As reported on #ubuntu IRC channel -
At present, searching for "gedit" in the dash on 15.10 brings up sexually explicit images from Wikipedia - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genital_modification_and_mutilation#/media/File:Klitorisvorhautpiercing_und_Piercing_der_inneren_Schamlippen.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genital_wart#/media/File:SOA-Condylomata-acuminata-around-anus.jpg Whilst online searching is going to be disabled by default on 16.04, consideration must be given to disabling online search by default on older releases. This is not the first bug to be filed about this topic, but may be unique in that (a) the search was for a default Ubuntu package, and (b) the returned images were particularly explicit. ** Affects: unity-lens-shopping (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1559340 Title: Searching for "gedit" in dash brings up sexually explicit images from online search To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-lens-shopping/+bug/1559340/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
