The bug is still present in Hardy and Intrepid.
I have read in bug #292148 that upstream have removed all of the cpufreq code
in gnome-power-manager for Intrepid. I don't know if this is correct as an
explanation about this wasn't given in that bug report.
Anyway I think that Ubuntu should allow
I think it is a good idea to enable cpufreq_show in gnome-power-
manager/ui in gconf by default.
Why not add conservative option too??

Oops, I forgot to mention that the UI did not offer the "conservative"
governor. When I am low on battery I normally use this ohne instead of
locking the box down to the lowest speed with "powersave". With it.

These are really the important options.
They allow you to change the cpufreq governor easily for AC and for BATTERY.
The point of this BUG is: You don't have to edit them by hand using
gconf-editor.
These options are already available at the Power Management UI, but they are
hidden.
