Do you both use the xine engine?
If so can you try to reproduce it with another xine based player and with
another engine in Amarok?
Does this happen for specific files or is it random?

It started happening with 1.4.8. I'm sorry I forgot mentioning that.
Also, my sister-in-law's computer is having the same behaviour. We both
have a Dell Inspiron 1501, Kubuntu Gutsy and Amarok 1.4.8. I have the 64
bit version and she has the 32bit version, though her processor is 64
bit. Just in
