To keep Synaptic/aptitude from complain, edit /var/lib/dpkg/status, and
remove the libsasl2-modules from the list of dependencies for libsasl2
-modules-gssapi-heimdal. For safety, I recommend duplicating the
original line, commenting out the original with a "#" and then editing
the duplicate.

Another work-around: the package can be downloaded to the harddrive
(http://packages.ubuntu.com/gutsy/libs/libsasl2-modules-gssapi-heimdal)
and installed as follows:
sudo dpkg -i --ignore-depends=libsasl2-modules libsasl2-modules-gssapi-
heimdal_2.1.22.dfsg1-12_.deb

This does, however, have the unfortunate side-effect of causing Synaptic
to complain whenever you try to install new packages.
