regarding this being fixed with an update. For future reference you can

With 4.4.0-28 it seems that suspend and hibernate work

Do you use USB 3.0?
I disconnected the USB 3 Flash Stick on USB 3 Port and now suspend seem
to work.
I have Desktop + Notebook.
Notebook always worked, but not desktop.
So I checked, was the difference:
- AMD APU on both
- SSD on both
- ubuntu fresh install with 16.04
- 64bit
- but USB 3 only on

Exactly same bug on Dell Inspiron 15 5000 Series after I updated to
Ubuntu 16.04. Suspend was working great when on 15.10.
Whenever I suspend either manually or automatically (e.g. after 1 hour
of inactivity), the laptop screen becomes black but the fan continues
working (I don't know whether the
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.
