This is for the recent update to 16.04. This affects me too. No top
title/menu bars for LibreOffice, gedit, evolution, document viewer,
(probably others) but I do have it for Firefox web browser. This is
for my SamSung laptop. I have a smaller Acer Aspire One and the
title/menu bar works fine

I have two computers running Ubuntu 16.04. One is an upgrade, the other
is a clean install. On the clean install the menus do not show up on
any of my windows every time I reboot my machine, even with the option

Thanks for your report. However, it does not seem to be a documentation
issue. You should always try to file bugs against the proper package(s).
I'd suggest that you file at least two new bug reports, one against
unity (ubuntu) about the location of the menus, and one against gedit
(ubuntu).
