Public bug reported: (I already reported this in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/1575918 but it seems like it was the wrong package.)
The German translation labels for Minimize and Maximize were changed in Ubuntu 16.04: old: Minimieren / Maximieren new: Verkleinern / Vergrößern In my opinion, this is wrong (vergrößern = expand, not maximize). However, the change is especially bad because it makes minimize and maximize via keyboard shortcuts more difficult: Before, I was able to open the menu with Alt + Space, followed by "m" for minimize and "x" for maximize. Now, the hotkey for "Verkleinern" was changed to "k", and for "Vergrössern" there are now multiple keystrokes necessary because the hotkey "g" is used twice in the same menu. My suggestion is to change the translation back to "_Minimieren" and "Ma_ximieren". ** Affects: unity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1579263 Title: German translation for minimize & maximize was changed to the worse To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1579263/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
