Hello, I am experiencing a similar issue.
I resize/moved NTFS partitions with gparted 4 times, and gparted crashed 3
times.
[+] Environment
Distribution : Ubuntu 18.04 Server with MATE Desktop
gparted version : bionic-updates,now 0.30.0-3ubuntu2 amd64
locale : en-US.UTF8
[+] Output from
15.04 has been end of life and unsupported for coming up on two years
now. Out of curiosity, are you using a non English locale? The error
may be related to non English character sets.

My apt-cache output above reports nothing useful, as I had to compile
gparted by hand to get version 0.25. The most recent version available
via package manager is 0.19. The man page for gparted does not say any
way to get a version number, so I cannot report its version number.

commands?
sudo fdisk -l -u
where one of the options is a lower case "L" and not the number one.
sudo parted /path-to-your-device unit s print
where /path-to-your-device is something like /dev/sda.
sudo blkid
