Xen 3.1 / Ubuntu 7.10, kernel 2.6.22-14-xen

I installed the Xen packages available in synaptic package manager so I
can start using Xen on my laptop. I get the following problem:

graphic login screen appears
enter credentials
starts to load
receive the following error:

this could mean there is some installation problem or that you may be out of 
diskspace. Try logging in with one of the failsafe to see if you can fix this 
problem.

After click 'ok', GDM restarts as if a CTRL+Backspace was hit.

I revert back to  2.6.22-13-generic kernel and everything is fine.
