Firefox does not tell you that firefox has crashed: when you shutdown your computer without closing firefox, the next time you open firefox it ask you if you want to restore the previous session. It was a new feature of Firefox 2. Read carefully the message that Firefox shows you, if I am right

No, it really says it crashed. I have setup Firefox's session manager to automatically load the last session, and if I close FF manually and restart it it works correctly. Only when I shutdown the computer with FF running (thus letting the computer close FF) I get the error on the next start. --
