Public bug reported: Binary package hint: abiword-plugins
(Gutsy, AMD64, recently upgraded) AbiWord starts normally if started from the Applications menu. However, if starting because a file was double-clicked on, or if opening a file from within the application, the contents of the document are displayed briefly, then AbiWord closes. No crash detector opens. This is not https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/abiword/+bug/32870 because the open dialog displays just fine, and the document even opens, but immediately closes. It doesn't appear to matter what document it is - I have tried many file types. All that appears on the terminal is [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ abiword abiword: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/AbiWord-2.4/plugins/libAbiGrammar.so: undefined symbol: dictionary_create_lang The application works fine when the plugins are not installed - it would appear as though a build problem occurred when building the Grammar plugin (built against wrong version of Link-Grammar binary or source?). The appropriate source for LinkGrammar is http://www.abisource.com/downloads/link-grammar/4.2.4/ This bug is (possibly?) reported upstream at http://bugzilla.abisource.com/show_bug.cgi?id=11224, though it DOES NOT occur upstream. ** Affects: abiword (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- AbiWord displays opened file then immediately crashes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/158432 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
