I am experiencing the same problem, regardless of whether or not there is a hyphen in my network's name. Any type of encryption method produces the same problem, including no encryption at all. Attached my syslog (with non-relevant information trimmed) and output from lspci -vvnn. ** Attachment

Happens to me too, but I don't need a hyphen (-) in the network name - happens with any name I come up with. The tooltip also says it's joining the (null) network. I'm on fully updated Hardy, trying to create an ad-hoc network for my iPhone to connect to. My syslog output is identical to what
