I should also mention that since 1.4.9 there was a number of memory
leaks fixed (and another related to $if_up is fix committed to svn).
Your contribution could be valuable to check if indeed we still have
memory leaks and possibly where.

I've stopped using it due to this bug. That was in 7.10, I haven't retried
it in 8.04. If you want I can see if I can find my old config file somewhere
and give it a shot. All I remember is that it would consume 4gb (or what was
free for it to consume) in less than 8 hours.

That would make sense to me, I have narrowed it down to a CPU issue.
Seeing as how 64bit has been out for a LONG time now, well I've had
one for over 5 years, I am leaning more towards this being a Core2Quad
issue. Do you by chance happen to have a Core2Quad machine? My CPU is
a Q6600.

interaction between conky and the 64 bit version. I have left conky on
all day with my system (12+ hours) and never see a memory leak problem
