Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager

In the office we had a network with wpa protection. Because I had lots
of disconnects I changed the access point to use wep (I have read that
this should help). My problem is now that network-manager does no longer
connect to this network automatically. Every morning I have to choose
"Connect to Other Wireless Network", enter the wep key.

The network is visible in the list "Wireless Networks" in nm-applet. But
if I click on it, it cannot connect (it just connects to an unprotected
wlan after a few seconds). I throught that perhaps the system was still
remembering the ssid associated to the wpa configuration and tried to
remove references to this: I removed the keys in keyring-manager, I
deleted the directory in .gconf/system/networking/wireless/<ssid>. But
nothing helped.

I'm working on Ubuntu 7.10.
