Didn't really get the part about tail -n0 /var/log/syslog /tmp/syslog,
this just produces an empty file? However, I have attached a syslog with
some comments. Other than that it didn't work the first two-three times

I have the same laptop and the same problem of course :)
The only way I found to solve this issue is using ndiswrapper using the
netw4x32 driver.
Now the wireless is up and runnig flawlessly.

I've had two or three successful connections since I did this bug
report. I'm posting daemon.log from one of these successful sessions.
Mostly it doesn't work though.
Another laptop in the house using Windows XP has no problems using the
wireless network. Also with an Intel Wireless card but I'm
