Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ldap-auth-client

The /etc/ldap.conf file is being shipped within ldap-auth-config, making
it a conffile. This means that the package maintainer scripts are
editing a conffile, which will have the result that if/when the shipped
ldap.conf is modified in the future, the user will get a conffile prompt
on upgrade despite not having touched this file by hand.

It is also not an appropriate target for a conffile anyway (according to
Debian policy), because there is no single configuration file that's
suitable for the majority of installs.

** Affects: ldap-auth-client (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
