Public bug reported: I am doing installs of Gutsy Ubuntu and Edubuntu on my Toshiba Satellite A215.
I have been trying to install a copy of Ubuntu with /boot on /dev/sda1 and / on /dev/sda5, and then a copy of Edubuntu on /dev/sda10. On Ubuntu I use /dev/sda6 as my /home. I find that after I do the second install, the first install has the following problems: Picking it from the grub menu at startup, I get into a frozen state. Then, if I <ctrl><alt><del> and hit <esc>, it does come up with the login screen, but it will not allow me to log in, saying it does not see my home directory. It will not allow me to log in as root either. There is a rescue configuration which I can successfully boot to. ** Affects: grub (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Cannot Install Ubuntu and Edubuntu together https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/159346 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
