I can confirm that this issue is fixed in 17.10 daily image. Bose
QuietComfort 35 headphones now pair without issues.

I was getting this error too for some reason. Using a Targus USB
Bluetooth Adaptor and Bose QuietComfort 35 on Ubuntu 14.04.
I rebooted and did the following steps from the command line (as root):
# hcitool dev
Devices:
hci000:19:0E:18:FC:6B
# hcitool scan
Scanning ...
This also affects me, has anyone found a workaround?
