Public bug reported: When using gnome-settings-daemon instead of unity-settings-daemon (for instance, in custom session) it doesn't work properly, namely, at least following things are broken: * hotkeys (including multimedia keys) * displays management (gnome-control-center says no displays found) * laptop blacklight management (when changing brightness level in gnome-control-center it doesn't have any effect)
Those are the first things I've noticed. However, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and sound settings seems to work. I'm on Xenial right now. xsession: [Desktop Entry] Name=Custom session Comment=Custom session Exec=/usr/lib/gnome-session/run-systemd-session custom-session.target TryExec=compiz Icon= Type=Application DesktopNames=GNOME X-Ubuntu-Gettext-Domain=gnome-session-3.0 gnome-session: [GNOME Session] Name=Custom RequiredComponents=gnome-settings-daemon;compiz;plank;wingpanel; DesktopName=Custom custom-session.target (the same as ubuntu-session.target): [Unit] Description=User systemd services for the Ubuntu graphical session # start/tear down graphical-session.target along with the ubuntu session BindsTo=graphical-session.target # session leader -- if this dies, die along with it BindsTo=gnome-session.service ** Affects: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1616283 Title: gnome-settings-daemon doesn't work properly in Ubuntu under LightDM To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1616283/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
