I'm still having issues with this, sorry for the Noob... here's my dmesg
output, or part of it. I can't even select all the output cause it's all this...
I tried editing the /etc/udev/rules.d/65-persistent-storage.rules with no luck.
My device does show up under Computer, Samsung Mass Media
Re-assigning against proper package. Thanks for the bug report.

Update: The solution in Bug #161094 seems to work for me.
I modified
/etc/udev/rules.d/65-persistent-storage.rules
in the following way:
Beginning near line 60 I commented out : IMPORT{program}=vol_id
--export $tempnode
And replaced with: (1 line)
ENV{DEVTYPE}!=disk,
Oops the correct solution is in Bug #151094
