These have now been uploaded by kubuntu developer Rohan Garg
(shadeslayer on IRC). Are any additional steps required to get these
approved in the upload queue?

If the KDE team wants to do that update, that's fine for me as
representative of the general Ubuntu release team, so approved.
However, I think it gets really tight for beta -- usually uploading,
building, and sorting through the test regressions takes more than a day
(and often enough the package
I too have been running several computers with these packages since they
were staged and also haven't had any problems.

I have been running my main kubuntu machine with these packages since
they were staged, and have not encountered any problems so far as a
result.
In fact another tester has reported that, as it is expected it should,
it fixes the secondary cause of KDE bug:
