I don't know if this is relevant for this bug report but I've just
noticed that while some origin file's names were written using upper
case characters, the destination files ended up having lower case
characters.

I just finished trying through the terminal. As with konqueror and
dolphin, a bunch of errors occurred.
The following error message is shown for each problematic file:
cp: cannot create regular file `/media/disk-1/207?o quantitativa.xls':
Invalid argument
