Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gconf
With Ubuntu 7.10, login as one user with say zh_HK.UTF-8 then logout and select en_HK.UTF-8 and log back in. The desktop realises the locale has changed and suggests renaming for Desktop and other directories, however gconfd/nautilus is still using the old values. So create a file on the desktop and it immediately disappears because it's a different folder. Workaround is to reboot or login on the console and kill the users gconfd which is still left running even after logout. ** Affects: gconf (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: Binary package hint: gconf With Ubuntu 7.10, login as one user with say zh_HK.UTF-8 then logout and select en_HK.UTF-8 and log back in.
