Public bug reported: statd is required to provide file system level locks for nfs shares. The statd service is no longer riunning by default, or enabled by default when you install the nfs server. I'm not sure.
This means that developers starting a vagrant box will get cryptic errors like this: http://askubuntu.com/questions/837962/nfs-error-no- locks-available-after-update-to-16-10/838630#838630. Enabling statd solves the issue. This is an issue in 16.04, and 16.10. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1634383 Title: no locks available in nfs share To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1634383/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
