Works for me now on Hardy (kernel 2.6.24-19). Appears that Ubuntu doesn't use any rtc modules now (lsmod | grep rtc shows nothing). So no need to re-open. -- hwclock -r fails on Dell Precision 670 due to rtc driver, use genrtc instead? https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/16345 You received this bug

I still have this problem on a Dell Optiplex 745 with the latest kernel (2.6.22): uname -r 2.6.22-14-386 sudo hwclock -r select() to /dev/rtc to wait for clock tick timed out Works with --directisa option as mentioned elsewhere: sudo hwclock -r --directisa --utc Wed 02 Apr 2008 11:21:40 BST
