found a bug in Ubuntu you should open a new bug report.
You may want to check the permissions on /etc/shadow first; the
permissions on *both* /etc/shadow and /sbin/unix_chkpwd must be the same
as shipped in Ubuntu for this to w
I have the same problem using Ubuntu 9.04. There is no difference between
'only' locking out or going into hibernate.
The fix above changed nothing at my /sbin/unix_chkpwd settings and therefore
didn't work.
My workaround still is using the 'switch user' button which logs me in (into
the runnin

That's not a bug in the Ubuntu libpam-modules package - those are the
default permissions for unix_chkpwd as we ship it. tomm174
I still have this problem even after that quick fix above. Using Ubuntu
9.04 with Likewise-open so maybe that's the problem. I cant seem to
login using my domain credentials and if I lock the screen I cant get
back in unless I click on switch user and simply enter the same local
credentials I was

The post by aglet fixed the problem with screenlock for me but i'm still
experiencing the problem on resume after hibernation. Any ideas?

I haven't re-tested the problem in a while, but I know it is still there if I
do certain things, and the solution is still to kill the screensaver
Sorry to be vague, but I don't remember what at present, 'cos I'm mostly not
using the GUI.
What do I need to do ?
