I have similar problem in 8.04.03 LTS. LVM snapshot freeze sometimes
after creation temporary lvm smapshot for mysql backup.

i have a similar/same issue. i have 2 identical dell 2950 servers.
both are running vmware-server-1.0.4-1gutsy2 only.

Same issue here. I had a set of backup script that create LVM snapshots
of XFS volumes that have been failing randomly since around the time I
upgraded to 7.10. I use different backup programs (tar | bzip2, 7z,
rdiff-backup, ...) and they all fail the same way. My backups run as
daily cron jobs
I have the same problem. Using Kubuntu 7.10, XFS, generic kernel.
Nothing can be read from disk after running "lvcreate -s
-L " (pretty sure that's the command I used, not at that
computer right now to check though). As such, programs that are not
already running cannot be started, and programs
