Unfortunately when I try to run the command "ubuntu-bug linux", apport shows
the following message:
"The problem cannot be reported: This is not an official Ubuntu package. Please
remove any third party package and try again"

with Ubuntu, using the default repository kernel (not mainline/upstream/3rd
party) via a terminal:

4.4 to 4.9-rc4 in order to identify the last bad commit, followed
immediately by the first good one. Once this good commit has been

The solution is to upgrade the system by using the network cable. The
updated system installs all new drivers and the wifi will work.

Friday weekend and could then participate in confirmation of bug and
subsequent validation of upstream kernel.

Checked with the upstream kernel 4.9.0_rc4 and it seems to work. I
rebooted a few times and each time the WIFI was identified correctly.
