Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Looks like the problem is that Adept fails to ask the
question about overwriting a configuration file. This particular bug
I had another similar error after updates today (deselected openoffice updates,
but allowed other packages in the update list to update) followed by adept
crash.
And as always sudo dpkg --configure -a fixed locked adept:
sudo dpkg --configure -a
Setting up libc6 (2.6.1-1ubuntu10) ...

I also have the same problem with the gutsy kubuntu install. I have
tried re-installing twice, with the same results.
My workaround is to de-select the libqt3-mt upgrade. Kubuntu seems to
still work without this being upgraded.
