Media Hub doesn't have video
Bill, you are right that the unity8 snap has made those changes. I
haven't tested video working since the change (still working on just
getting audio OK). But no media-hub in image right now.
I assume we eventually want it back though.

Media Hub doesn't have video backend for
the short term fix for this is to not use media-hub. Video plays well on
desktop if qtubuntu-media is not installed and gstreamer1.0-libav is
installed. I believe unity8 snap has already made these changes and
mediaplayer-app works
