I removed the .gnome2/epiphany/extensions folder and the problem
disappeared.

i suspect that this isn't the plugin shipped in the ubuntu package due
his location, you could try to move away those files and see if it's
works, i mean move away the /home/runar/.gnome2/epiphany/extensions/cc-
license-viewer.*, backing up first, just in case.
