I have an HP PSC 1315v and no matter the mode I select in the Printout
Mode heading (eg. 300dpi, black + color, photo paper), it seems that
the selection in the General heading of Printout Mode takes
precedence, and the only listings there are either black or color cart,

Devide up the LIDIL printers in devices which are (were) delivered with
a color and a black cartridge and devices which are (were) delivered
with only the CMY color cartridge.

I have reported this problem to the HPLIP developers at HP. It
originates in the case that some printers of the type of your printer
were sold only with the CMY color cartridge and without black cartridge.
The solution will be to distinguish more detailed between printer models
when assigning the
